beWellnm appoints Linda Wedeen as interiom CEO
Ms. Wedeen has been serving at beWellnm’s Senior Director of Communications, Marketing & Outreach and will be assuming the Interim CEO role later this month when current CEO, Amy Dowd vacates the position for a new job out of state.
A member of the beWellnm leadership team since 2014, Ms. Wedeen has been responsible for the Exchange’s communications, marketing and community outreach programs providing strategic direction and oversight of beWellnm’s efforts to raise awareness and promote enrollment.
Ms. Wedeen has more than 30 years’ experience in New Mexico including serving as the Executive Director of New Mexico Cancer Foundation, World Wide Executive Communications Manager for Hewlett Packard and Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing for First Community Bank.
Ms. Wedeen has also served on the board of directors of Quality New Mexico, Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, WESST Corp., and the City of Albuquerque Indicators Progress Commission (Mayoral appointment), among others.
Ms. Dowd is the CEO of BeWellNM since August of 2014. She came to New Mexico from Your Health Idaho, Idaho's Health Insurance Exchange, where she was the Executive Director. She has an extensive background in health insurance working for private and non-profit health plans.
Ms. Dowd also worked in Ernst and Young's national health care practice helping national health insurers implement the Affordable Care Act.
Prior to that, she held several leadership positions at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in upstate New York.
Ms. Dowd is a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified Project Manager with over 20 years' experience leading large-scale operations and technology implementation projects in the public, private, and non-profit healthcare sectors.
