AorTech International CEO Eddie McDaid to resign
Mr. McDaid is a Chartered Accountant and one of the co-founders of AorTech in 1992. Until the year 2002 he had served as Chief Executive and latterly Chairman of the company.
Mr. McDaid re-joined the Board of AorTech as non-executive director in 2005.
Prior to 1992 he worked in various firms of Chartered Accountants, latterly as partner in PKF Chartered Accountants and finally as partner in McDaid & Partners Chartered Accountants, a firm he founded.
Mr. McDaid was also one of the co-founders of Parklane property group and served as Chief Executive of that group for a number of years.
In addition, he currently holds a role as non-executive director of Newlands Lanarkshire Limited involved in land development. He is an Audit Committee member.
William Donald Brown will assume CEO responsibilities.
Mr. Brown has been advising and investing in small companies for over 20 years. Having qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986, he started a career in venture capital with INVESCO before moving to Baronsmead (which later became Ivory & Sime, Friends Ivory & Sime, then ISIS).
In 1996 Mr. Brown launched the seminal AIM Trust, the first dedicated fund for the AIM market. He went on to become head of ISIS’s small company investment teams based in Edinburgh and London before leaving to found Bluehone Investors in 2005.
Mr. Brown is a former Chairman of the London Stock Exchange’s AIM Advisory Group. He is a member of the Remuneration and Audit Committees. ■
