May 31, 2008, Bahrain - Amar Holding Company B.S.C has appointed Hasan Al-Bastaki as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Al-Bastaki has over 21 years of experience in the public, private, and academic sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain and North America. Mr. Al-Bastaki holds a B.Sc. degree in Accounting from the King Saud University, Saudi Arabia; an MBA (major Accounting) and Ph.D. in Accounting both from Texas, USA. Mr. Al-Bastaki held various top positions amongst which were the Secretary General of the Bahrain Studies and Researches Center at the rank of undersecretary, an Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Education, and an Executive Manager at Ernst & Young, Bahrain. In the academic world, Mr. Al-Bastaki held a number of administrative and teaching positions at the University of Bahrain. These included Vice President for Finance & Administration, Dean of the College of Business, and Chairman of the Department of Accounting. Mr. Al-Bastaki was also a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas, USA.
