Adecoagro, an agriculture holding, announced that Jim Anderson, former chief executive officer of Gavilon Group, has been appointed to the company's board of directors.

READ MOREMr. Anderson joined Gavilon Group in February 2010 as chief operating officer of fertilizer. In 2011, his responsibilities were expanded to include the company’s grain and ingredients businesses as chief operating officer of agriculture.
In October 2014, he was named successor to Greg Heckman as president and chief executive officer.
Prior to joining Gavilon, Mr. Anderson served as chief executive officer and member of the board of directors at United Malt Holdings (UMH), where he drove innovation and change across its seven companies to increase shareholder value for private equity and employee owners.
Prior to UMH, he spent 11 years in senior management roles at ConAgra, including ConAgra Food Ingredients, ConAgra Agriculture Products, ConAgra Trade Group and ConAgra Grain Companies.
Mr. Anderson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, with an emphasis in finance. ■
