Bluboo X9 smartphone, pleasant Chinese surprise
In the group of under $150, Bluboo X9 offers a lot. It has the MediaTek MT6753 processor, a 1.3GHz Cortex-A53 octa-core processor with the Mali-T720 graphic processor unit. While it can't compare with the Qualcomm's Adreno, there's no doubt you'll have enough power for your tasks. Bluboo went further than many manufacturers, especially those from China, and built 3GB of RAM inside, and on top of that it added 16GB of internal storage. Not enough? You may use a microSD card slot available.
The display, the second - or for some the first - most important thing on the smartphone isa 5-inch 1920×1080 IPS display. It can't compare with AMOLED - nobody can't - but it is very good, too good for that price range. Colors are well-defined, as well as viewing angles, and for noticeable better picture you'd have to spend four times more money. And it also looks great in direct sunlight which is a feature some very expensive smartphones have a problem with.
There are a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter, so your selfies and other photo tries have a good chance to look really good. The Bluboo X9 weighs in at about 166g and measures 145 mm x 71.5 mm x 7.9mm. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 4.0 and a micro USB port on the bottom. The smartphone is powered by a 2500mAh battery with is a good choice because it is enough for its hardware, nothing to complain about here.
The Bluboo X9 looks very nice, design is good and - again - looks like it belongs to a more expensive category. The back is made of soft-touch plastic that gives it a very good feeling in hand, it will not slip or feel cold when you touch it. Add to that a fingerprint sensor situated on the back when your finger naturally fits, and you got the picture: The Bluboo X9 is on top or our list of great budget smartphones. ■
