A professional entry model
Audio-Technica’s ATH-M10 dynamic stereo headphones deliver exceptional clarity, comfortable lightweight design and a natural, accurate frequency response. The headphones' closed-back padded circumaural (around the ear) ear cups provide maximum acoustic isolation and long-wearing comfort.
Audio Technica has somehow picked up on the fact that everybody wants a great product at a small price and released the ATH-M10, a very affordable entrant into their tremendously popular and well-reviewed "M" (monitoring) series of closed-back headphones. The full-size ear cups remain from the more expensive M models along with large-aperture 40mm speaker driver arrays that capably deliver big bass without mush, clarity without sharpness and the kind of precise musical detail retrieval that used to be the exclusive domain of high priced headphones.
The smooth signature sound that's come to be associated with Audio Technica headphones also remains with the M10 in order to allow long listening hours without premature ear fatigue setting in. A great full-size headphone that's made even more so by the value-loaded price. Excellent "starter audiophile" can very well serve at home in amateur-made recording place or professional audio studio.
The ATH-M10 offers large, round full-size ear cups that are softly padded for maximal comfort. The simple construction design is durably built and the sliding headband will easily adjust to heads of all dimensions, so listeners will be able to enjoy the ATH-M10's stable, secure fit and no fear of the headphones slipping down at the least desirable moment of music passion.
The extra-long three meters cord is very convenient for studio use and it's terminated with a 3.5mm (1/8") plug and 6.35 mm (1/4") stereo adapter is in the box. Add to that the the price of 50 dollars and two year manufacturer's warranty and you'll see why ATH-M10 is our choice. ■
