The Taste of London festival at Regent's Park is four-day celebration of fine food and drink. Forty of London's top restaurants serve sample-sized dishes and celebrated chefs are on hand to answer questions and show you some of the tricks of the trade.
There are also wine tastings and tutorials. Hundreds of exhibitors offer ingredients and cooking, and kitchen utensils are on sale.

The three-weeks Holland Festival is the biggest arts event in the Dutch calendar held in Amsterdam. Performances take place at the new modern music venue Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and many other concert halls and theaters. This annual event draws international performers in theatre, dance, music and opera.
The West End Festival brings over 200 music, film, art and performance events in the West End of Glasgow. The range of events is vaste, from blockbuster films to street parties. The event not to be miseed is the Opening Parade and Street Party, and performances of many country, jazz, roots, and salsa bands.

Half a million visitors are drawn to the riverside town of Itako for the annual Iris Festival. One million individual plants of around 500 different varieties can be seen in the flower park. A flower exhibition is held throughout the month at the park and at weekends there are scheduled dance performances and music parades. ■
