The web magazine for top managers - who's promoted, who came, who left? And what to do when you're not in the office.
The new Audi Q5 has three engine variants, plenty of power and a new look at sport SUV. It will com to China first, and after that to US and Europe.
Audi Q5 is 4.63 meters long, 1.88 meters wide, and 1.65 meters high (15.19 feet, 6.17 feet, 5.41 feet, respectively), and because of that it looks very sporty. Another argument for its sport nature is very good drag coefficient of 0.33. When talking about design, it’s obvious that the Q5 is true Audi with a bit more strength. The headlights are large, the grille is large and wheels are large; the design emphasizes a true power. The lines on the roof underscore slim design, and tail makes clear connection with older Audi Q7.
The cockpit is driver-oriented, the seating position is high, and materials of Audi quality: aluminium, expensive woods, chrome, leather and Alcantara, and a large selection of optional design packages.
The high torque of 350 Nm is constant from 1,500 rpm to 4,200 rpm, with performance peaking at 155 kW (211 hp). Q5 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, top speed is 222 km/h (137.94 mph), and all that is delivered using just 8.5 litres of fuel per 100 km. The 350 Nm diesel engine delivers outstanding 125 kW (170 hp) with average consumption of just 6.7 litres per 100 km. The two-litre TDI catapults the Audi Q5 from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, peaking at a top speed of 204 km/h.
The most powerful engine is the 3.0 TDI: 176 kW (240 hp), 500 Nm, from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds, top speed is 225 km/h... Very good. Audi builds the Audi Q5 standard with quattro permanent all-wheel drive which is the logical solution for a sport SUV. The transfer case distributes the power to the front and rear axle in a 40:60 ratio, and when needed, the quattro driveline can deliver up to 65 percent of the power to the front axle and a maximum of 85 percent to the rear axle.
