Colombian channel El Tiempo taken off air in Venezuela

Colombian channel El Tiempo has been removed from the grid of cable operator Directv, as instructed by the Venezuelan National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel).


It has been removed while airing the demonstrations held on Wednesday in Caracas, a Colombian newspaper reported.

According to the news, El Tiempo had been allocated channel 773. From now on, it will continue broadcasting via streaming.

“Argentinean channel Todo Noticias was reportedly taken off the air too,” the newspaper noted.

On Wednesday, April 19, dissenters held multiple rallies in Caracas, the province and in several foreign countries against the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
