United Kingdom Preliminary data from the Office for National Statistics
UK merchandise trade deficit narrowed in December despite exports falling for the third straight month.

The trade in services resulted in a surplus of GBP 7.2 billion, which was lower than November's GBP 7.5 billion surplus. Consequently, the total trade deficit narrowed to GBP 2.7 billion from GBP 4 billion in November.
Overall exports declined 0.8 percent from the previous month and imports dropped 3.6 percent. ■
