Austria: Industrial production growth moderates in September
Growth in September was driven by greater year-on-year production of energy and inputs.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production declined 0.6% in September, contrasting a 0.4% increase in August.
The slowdown was the result of a month-on-month contraction in the production of inputs and durable consumer goods; capital goods production also decreased.
Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production picked up from 3.2% in August to 3.3% in September.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists project that industrial production will increase 3.8% in 2018, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast.
For 2019, the panel expects that industrial production will increase 2.6%.
