The word "eco" is very popular these days and it is pleasure to see that some companies are really trying to do something for our future.

One of the biggest mobile technology companies, Ericsson, blended the well-known Scandinavian design with technology into its Tower Tube. Tower Tube is a construction that houses antennas and base stations for mobile phones. What is important here is the new design that contributes to aesthetic, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly tower. Thanks to great design, Tower can be of various sizes and shapes, and it fits landscapes very nicely. In opposite to "classic" tower, Tower Tube can be colored and it can have different finishes, all of which improves its melting in the nature.

The conventional steel structures are thing of the past, says Ericsson, and we believe them. Tower Tube is 5 meters in diameter and that is about 30 percent of traditional steel structures. And that means that less land has to be abducted from the landscape. The new tower has all equipment at the top, and it reduces the need for cooling, which means it is more energy efficient. The process of manufacturing lowers the amount of carbon dioxide, so it seems that Ericsson’s engineers did a very good job here.
