In the age described with words "modern", "21st century", and "state of the art", it is refreshing to see return to our roots. Not that state of the art is bad, but I often feel so bored looking at the glass/metal combination. There are very few companies and designers that are able to bring piece of metal to life, and other are just followers and creators that doesn't deserve to be called creators.

When talking about our roots I don't want to go too far proclaiming that we must hunt as Neanderthals or eat just raw food or grass. No. The point is that it is good for our mental and thus physical health to bring a piece of nature to our homes. Just one stone can make our life happier and if it is carved into a sculpture we can rest our eyes on it and charge our batteries for another 16-hour day.

I encountered Stone Forest's website while surfing the internet and I've been left amazed how simple but powerful kitchen sink can be. Stone Forest has two product lines, Garden Collection and Kitchen + Bath, and whole range of products, from bathtubs to vanities, from tableware to sinks. They do made metal sinks, but the stone sinks are "the products" I'm talking about.

Each and every sink is unique, carved from natural stone so the color, size and shape must vary from piece to piece. And that is good. Take the interior, for example. Its colour may vary from grey-green to grey-blue which gives unexpected touch to your bathroom and you can be sure that your friend don't have exactly the same sink. It is always good to have a unique thing.

Every sinks reflects the nature of the artist that made it and those slight irregularities just enhance its artistic value. As they say in Stone Forest, the create and combine Japanese and contemporary design since 1989, but I'd say that differently. Stone Forest creates sinks that have natural look, natural feel, and of completely natural material.

There is a broad range of stone products and I won't wasting your and my time writing about each and every one of them. Visit them and choose sink or bathtub made of stone. Maybe you'll feel like Flintstones at first, but soon you'll realize that you found what you needed: A piece of nature.
