Senvion agrees jobs cut package, number of jobs cut not known
The package includes the main elements of a redundancy programme, such as payments and interim employment.
It will be spelled out in greater detail over the next few days, IG Metall said.
“Unfortunately, the concepts we developed as an alternative failed in avoiding closures of facilities. During the negotiations, however, we managed to avoid some job losses,” said Senvion works council president Bernhard Band.
In early March, Senvion has announced plans to cut more than 700 jobs globally to improve its competitiveness.
It is, however, still unclear how many jobs will be affected by the restructuring programme. ■
