The reductions will come into effect this week. Deals will include a pack of avocados falling from £1.80 to £1.47, King Edward potatoes dropping from £2 to £1.67, a pack of meatballs will drop from £2 to £1.77 and a six pack large white baps will cost 50p.
The additional 800 items brings the number of items affected by the average cut of 19% up to 1500.
The retailer has also simplified the price of more than five thousand items by rounding them off, making it easier for customers to calculate how much is in their basket.
"These price cuts will help families who are on a tighter budget and will continue to make Morrisons more competitive," said marketing and customer director Andy Atkinson. ■
