Archer Daniels Midland spreads in China, Minnesota
The Zhangzhou plant, which is expected to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2016, will manufacture a range of nutritional feed premixes that can be added to animal rations to promote good health and optimal growth. Such premix formulas typically contain various vitamins and minerals, amino acids such as lysine and threonine, and special feed additives, among other ingredients.
ADM will manufacture an estimated 30,000 metric tons of premix products per year at the Zhangzhou facility, which will also provide 80,000 metric tons of additional capacity for the production of complete feeds and concentrates.
The facility is expected to employ about 150 people, and will complement ADM's existing premix facilities in Dalian and Tianjin, in northern China; and a facility under construction in Nanjing, in eastern China.
The new, fully automated feed facility in Glencoe, adjacent to ADM's existing mill, is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2016. It will serve customers in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. ADM will be able manufacture about 80,000 metric tons of products per year at the facility. ■
